Results of the RCR modernising governance member vote

We’re pleased to announce our Fellows and members have voted in favour of the proposed changes to modernise the governance of the RCR.

Thank you to everyone who voted and engaged in the future of their College – we had 85% voting in favour of the changes.

We believe these changes are critical to how we run, how effectively we can make decisions and how agile we can be in responding quickly and decisively to issues that matter most to you. The changes will now be formally put to Privy Council, with a plan to have the new structure in place by 1 September 2023.

Dr Katharine Halliday, RCR President, said: “I’m pleased with such a high level of support. It is so important that our Fellows and members have had their say and paved the way to modernise the way the RCR is run.

“These changes will increase our members’ voice and enable leadership to respond more swiftly and effectively to the needs of the College. We’ll also be able to better meet our members’ priorities. This is a positive change and I’m excited about the future of the RCR.”

We’ll be providing further updates to all members on this transition via our website, social media and regular faculty bulletins in the coming weeks and months.
